Abstract

obsters are carnivores (meat eaters), one of the main types of feed used in lobster cultivation is trash fish. Trash fish has a protein content of 84.67% in dry weight and 18.78 in wet weight. Trash fish has several weaknesses when used as main feed, including a high FCR value which means that large amounts of feed are needed to support lobster growth, besides that trash fish will also experience price increases in certain seasons, so there is a need for alternative feeds that can produce better growth and can minimize feed costs. One way that is offered is to use moist feed. Moist feed is semi-wet feed which has a moisture content of 35-40%. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth of sand lobster (Panulirus homarus) by giving moist feed and adding different doses of probiotics. The method used in this study is the RAL method (Completely Randomized Design) using 6 treatments and 3 repetitions. The study was conducted for 60 days using sand lobster with a length of 3 cm and a weight of 2 grams/head, then reared in KJA. The use of moist feed with the addition of probiotics in this study had a significant effect on the growth of sand lobster. The best dose of probiotics obtained was 0,3%, namely in the P2 treatment (moist feed + 0,3% probiotic). The absolute weight and length are 91.23 g and 4.19 cm; Specific weight and length of 1.74%/day and 1.46%/day; TKH is 81.33%; RKP of 7.60 ; Feed efficiency is 91.30%; and protein retention of 28.86%. From this study, it is known that the growth of sand lobster continues to decrease along with the high dose of probiotics given. It is suspected that the administration of probiotics with different doses also affects the protein value in the feed, where the results of laboratory tests show that the protein value continues to decrease with the high dose of probiotics given. So the authors suggest using different types of probiotics to determine the type and effective dose for the growth of sand lobster.
