Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of plastic mulch and doses of Petroganik fertilizer on growth and yield of black rice in an aerobic irrigation system. The experimental design used was the Split Plot design consisting of two factors, i.e. plastic mulch (M) as the main plot consisting of two levels (M0 = without plastic mulch and M1 = using plastic mulch), and doses of Petroganik fertilizer (P) as sub-plots consisting of three levels (P0= without Petroganik fertilizer, P1= Petroganik at 500 kg/ha, and P2= Petroganik at 1000 kg/ha). The two factors obtained six treatment combinations, repeated three times to obtain 18 experimental units. The results showed that plastic mulch had an effect on plant height, number of panicles, panicle length, number of filled grains, and grain yield per clump. Petroganik fertilizer had an effect on plant height, number of leaves, but the highest yield was obtained in treatment P0 compared to P1 and P2. The interaction of plastic mulch and Petroganik fertilizer has a significant effect on the height of black rice plants.
