Abstract

This study was aimed to investigate lecturers’ belief and students’ perception of corrective feedback in English writing class of English Education program of Mataram University 2016/2017. The case study research design was adopted involve collecting documents, interviewing both lecturers and students perspectives, and also observing classroom in teaching-learning activity in order to explore their perceptions toward corrective feedback in English writing class. Population of this research was English writing students and the samples were two different writing lecturers and 21 English writing students. The sample was taken by purposive random sampling. The data were collected by using questionnaire, structured interview and classroom observation. Quantitative method and qualitative method were used to analyze the data. From the results, it was indicated that lecturers believed corrective feedbak have a direct impact and influence on their teaching practice and also students’ perception showed that they strongly want and expect corrective feedback from their lecturers.
