Abstract
Demand of honey in West Nusa Tenggara is continuously increase every year. However the increase is not corresponds to the sufficient supply which gives Opportunity to the spread of fake honey. At present, production Of honey is still considerably low approximately 5-7 kilograms per colony peryear This level of production could be increased with improvement Of the guality af ihe existing gueen bee. Almost entire activities both inside and ouiside of the hive are controlled by the gueen bee. That makes the guality of gueen bee become a key Jactor for success in the business. Since the number Of bee keepers is rise every year. the demand of guality gueen bee is getting more importani. The need of gueen bee is usually fulfilled with traditional hunting in the resource. It may affect the sustainability and existence of gueen bee in Ihe nature, beside it takes longer time to obtain a certain number of gueen bees. There is no single bee keeper, neither private organizations nor government institutions do the specialization in gueen bee rearing. Therefore beekeeping which produce gucen bee Ihat avaible every time become a great business opportunity and has a bright prospeet in the nature.
