Abstract

Wild honey bee is a type of honey bees known as a very productive bees and can be classified as the highest producer of honey among other types of honey bees. The production of honey may reach 30-50 kilograms per comb in one colony, but this type can be classifield as wild, aggressive, and very dangerous bees. Generally, the honey bees make hives on the branch of a tree height about 20-40 meters and build their comb on branches that are difficult to reach and located in various angle of tree branches. These conditions become the threat for honey hunters with the risk of fall from the tree and being attacked with a group of bees that could bring to death. many efforts have been tried to demesticate this type of honey bees, but the results were not satisfied. A strategic effort that may be set up is trying to attact the bees to make nest in a lower and reachable place. In Some locations in Indonesia there were traditional methods to attract the bees to make nest in a place where it can be easier to handle and harvest the honey. Some of the methods applies are known as sunggau system, tikung and derek system. Result of research indicates that the attraction to built hive of these bees using these methods can achieve 50%
