Abstract
This study aims to determine the characteristics and identification of local honeybee moth predator (Apis cerana) to incur losses and escaping of honeybee colonies belonging to beekeepers. This research was conducted from July to October 2015 in some of the beekeepers in the three districts on Lombok island that have a problem attack moth predator. Eighty stupe collection results in the field with a predator attack symptoms, observed its character and collected to be maintained in the laboratorium as research material. The research found only one species of moth predator identified as Galleria sp. This moth Galleria mellonella similar to, yet different on the front wing venation and has three strands frenulum on the hind wings, thus allegedly as a new species (Galleria nsp.)
