Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the significant effect of realia in studying vocabulary at MTs NW DasanTapen. Realia is the method of using true, physical objects in the classroom to help students relate to English on a deeper level. It employs functional, tactile, and visual teaching techniques to impart grammar, vocabulary, or ideas. A quantitative approach and an experimental design were the methods in this research. The second- year students of MTs NW Dasan Tapen were the subjects of this study. Two classes participated in the study. The lecture method was used in the control group, while reality was used as a learning tool in the experimental group. Pre-test, treatment, and post-test are the three parts of the process that are included in each class. The techniques for gathering data in this research were put to the test. Pre-tests and post-tests were both used by the author. The researcher then used SPSS 25 to calculate the t-test value and examine the data. According to the values, the outcomes demonstrated that the experimental class's students' vocabulary knowledge had grown.Hence, the Null Hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted because the significant value was less than 05 (11.125 > 2.021).
