Abstract

This thesis entitled “Analysis Conflicts in Wonder, A Novel Written by R.J. Palacio. Novel Wonder by R.J. Palacio as an object of research. The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics and conflicts of the main characters. This reserach uses a qualitative descriptive method. The primary data source is the novel Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Secondary data sources taken from libraries, books, journals, articles and the internet. This study focuses on the conflict faced by the main character in the novel, namely Auggie. August Pullman (Auggie) is a child who was born with Mandibolufacial dysostosis, a complicated condition. The data were collected by read and note. The results of this study are that there are two types of conflict in it, namely internal and external conflicts. Internal conflicts are conflicts that occur in the heart of a story character and external conflicts are conflicts that occur between characters. The form of internal conflict experienced by the main character is anxiety and sadness while the form of external conflict that is angry, quarrel, bullying. Besides that, the researcher describes the dominated conflict faced by the main character.
