Abstract

This research collected the authentic tasks and the authentic texts of tourism practitioners in Bonjeruk tourist village using a standpoint model. After collecting the authentic data, the researcher analyzed and translated the data into instructional analysis as the basis for designing the syllabus for English for tourism practitioners in Bonjeruk tourist village. This research was conducted in Bonjeruk, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. There were 5 respondents of this research, i.e., 2 tour guides, 2 sellers and a weaver. The data were collected using observation, interview and documentation. The collected data then analyzed with data reduction, data display, conclusion and verification and the last process is designing syllabus. The authentic tasks carried out by the tour guide are greeting, introducing, welcoming, ending the tour, guiding and explaining the activity, history, background, the products. The authentic texts carried out by the tourism practitioners are the local people profession, the tradition, the process of making anteng, roasted coffee, jamu serbat, sate kuncung, traditional snacks, etc. After collected the authentic tasks and texts, researcher designed syllabus to support tourism practitioners using English language material in doing their job
