Abstract

English as a global language is also important for fast-food restaurant employees to master. This study conducted a needs analysis for Burger King employees. The goal of this study is to find out the current English level of Burger King employees, the English competencies that are required for Burger King employees and a syllabus design for attaining the required competencies. The participant of this study were Burger King restaurant employees and supervisor official. The data were collected through interviews and tests to identify the current English level of the employees. The result shows that the employees lack English skills particularly speaking and listening skills. The study exemplifies listening and speaking skills required for Burger King and others of various stations of the industry.
