The sampling technique of this research is purposive sampling. The kind of data is quantitative method and the data was collected through pretest and posttest. Experimental group was treated by using Shaun the sheep video, while the control group was treated without video as comparator. The finding shows that t-test value is higher than t-table. 2.32 >2.004 at significant level .05 (95%) in degree freedom (df) 54. It means that the null hypothesis (ho) which stated that ―there is no significant effect of using media on students’ writing descriptive text‖ was rejected. While the alternative hypothesis (ha) stated that‖ there is a significant effect of using media on students’ writing descriptive text ―failed to be rejected (was accepted). It shows that media gave significant effect on students’ writing descriptive text at tenth grade of MA NW Jurang Jaler in academic year 2014/2015.
