Abstract

Mastering of English is something which very essential for everybody who wants to improve their knowledge and technology. As the international language English, almost people around the world use English for their communication. This reason way English is very important language. Some countries use English as second language, but in ours English as foreign language, from that function we are as Indonesian people are usually make an errors in English. To overcome the problems, we try to carry out different attempts to improve their English with a good teaching and learning processes. One way to improve their English is improve the creativity of the students. If the students have high creativity they can express their ideas, practice their English without afraid to make an errors and their achievement will be increase. The method of investigation is held through a quantitative research in this term of quantitative data. The writer will use statistical analysis to calculate the numeral data that are gathered and to analyze them by the use of correlation analysis. The correlation coefficient was then interpreted to find out the relationship between students’ creativity and their achievement in English learning. In constructing research design, the writer will use case study. This research design belongs to experimental design. To find out the correlation coefficient between two variables, the writer apply the Pearson Product-Moment formula as follows: } ) ( { } ) ( { ) ( ) ( 2 2 2 2 Y Y N X X N Y X XY N rxy            From computation above, it was found that the correlation coefficient is 0,508; where as the critical value of “r” with 5% significant level and the number of subject 32 is 0.349. Thus, the critical value is lower than the value resulted from the computation above. It means that hypothesis was accepted. So, there is a positive and significant correlation between the students’ creativity and their English learning achievement. It can be interpreted that there is positive and strong correlation between the students’ creativity and their English learning achievement.
