Abstract

Single-phase multilevel Cascaded H-bridge inverter composed of several inverter cells. A DC voltage combination system is connected to each input voltage on each inverter cell to form a multilevel output voltage waveform. The inverter uses an electronic switch to form each voltage from the input DC voltage. In this research, an investigation of varied input DC voltage ratios was performed on a two-cell single-phase Cascaded H-bridge inverter. The result shows that the inverter produces 5 level voltage with 14.8% THDv value, 7 level voltage with 9.9% THDv value, and 9 level voltage with 9.6% THDv value for 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 DC voltage ratios respectively.
