Abstract
The thesis, "The Analysis of Students' Difficulties in Speaking English at the Eleventh Grade of SMAN 1 SAPE," seeks to identify the difficulties that students face as well as the dominant factors that influence these difficulties. This research was conducted using a qualitative method. Data was gathered by a test and a questionnaire. A test was conducted to collect data on students' difficulties in Speaking English, and a questionnaire was used to supplement the data and analyze the dominant factors causing students' difficulties in Speaking English. According to the findings of this study, 59% of students had fluency issues, 53% had pronunciation issues, 40% had grammar issues, 38% had vocabulary issues, and 33% had comprehension issues. Furthermore, the researcher discovered some factors that contributed to difficulties in speaking English, including: 50% shyness, 47% fear of making mistakes, 44% anxiety, 40% lack of knowledge, 36% lack of confidence, and 30% lack of motivation
