Abstract

Losses experienced by contractors who procure heavy equipment occur due to ignorance of the depreciation value and value of the equipment after the project. Some contractors continue to use tools whose value has decreased continuously so that they incur costs that are not in accordance with the condition of the tools used, even though the tools can be operated but from a financial perspective they may experience losses. Therefore, an analysis was carried out regarding the depreciation value of heavy equipment in order to find out the value of depreciation of the equipment along with the price of the equipment after the project was carried out and in this study the equipment was analyzed after the construction project of Mandalika Baypass road 2. To find out the depreciation value and equipment value after the Mandalika Bypass Road 2 construction project, an analysis of the depreciation value has been carried out using the straight line method using qualitative and quantitative data. The straight line method involves the calculation resulting from the purchase price of the heavy equipment minus the residual value of the heavy equipment where the residual value is obtained from the condition of the equipment multiplied by the purchase price of the heavy equipment, then divided by the economic life of the equipment. In this study a validation test was also carried out using the triangular method in which a survey was carried out on the condition of the heavy equipment according to the original conditions. Assessment of heavy equipment condition is classified into 5 condition indices, namely very good, good, normal, not good, and very bad. The results of the analysis in this study show that the depreciation that occurs will be higher if the tool is in poor condition and will bring a lower depreciation value if the tool is in good condition. The price of the tool after the project is very dependent on the depreciation value of the tool itself, the higher the depreciation, the lower the tool price will be and if the depreciation value is calculated based on operational costs, the higher the depreciation, the lower or cheaper the tool price will be.
