Abstract

Central Lombok Regency is a center for food production, especially rice in NTB Province . However, the potential to be self-sufficient in food is threatened due to land conversion for non-agricultural activities. This study uses secondary data the last two years, namely data in 2019 and 2020 which are used as the basis for analyzing the planted area of food crops, the minimum land area per capita per year to achieve food self-sufficiency, also to analyze the amount of food crop production and determine the level of potential for food self-sufficiency in each sub-district in Central Lombok Regency. The results showed that the planted area of food crops per capita in 2020 in Central Lombok Regency was216.67% of the minimum land for self-sufficiency in food (at least 0.06 ha/capita/year), where the narrowest land was in Praya District and the widest land was in Praya District. Southwest Praya District, with the total production of food crops produced equivalent to 2,208,837,325,200 Kilo calories or the equivalent of 613,565,924 kg of rice/year. The sub-districts with the potential for carrying high food self-sufficiency (capable of being self-sufficient in food and providing a decent life) are SouthwestPraya, Pujut, East Praya and West Praya. While those with moderate carrying capacity (capable of being self-sufficient in a minimu m number of Minimum Physical Needs but not living a decent life) are sub-districts: Jonggat, Janapria, Central Praya, Kopang,North Batukliang, Pringgarata, Batukliang, and Praya. Meanwhile, Praya Subdistrict is the area most prone to decreasing potential for food self-sufficiency to low due to the high rate of economic development and population growth that converts productive agricultural land
