Abstract
The rate of early marriage in NTB is still common. To reduce this number, local governments innovate by making regulations. This is evidenced by the enactment of West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Regulation Number 5 of 2021 concerning the Prevention of Child Marriage which made the province of NTB the first region in Indonesia to regulate the prevention of child marriage. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of knowing the communication strategy of the North Gerung Village Government in socializing the NTB Regional Regulation on early marriage and to find out the inhibiting and supporting factors in socializing the NTB Regional Regulation on early marriage. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques in this study using interviews. The results of the study explained that the communication strategy of the North Gerung Village Government in socializing the NTB Regional Regulation on Early Marriage was carried out in four stages, namely planning, implementing, evaluating, and reporting. The things that were done in the socialization were by conducting formal socialization by presenting speakers from the relevant agencies, carrying out informal socialization using the heads of the neighborhoods, conducting socialization by distributing pamphlets in schools and other public places, and making information boards related to local regulations prohibiting early marriage. Then the supporting factors for achieving the goals of the communication strategy of the North Gerung Village government are good teamwork from all parties in the Village and high awareness of the people of Gerung Utara about the law. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factor of socialization is the old understanding of the community related to certain religious laws and the influence of the social environment and social media.
