Abstract
Literature Review: Understanding Mechanism of Vitamin D Deficiency and Effect in Degenerative Disease. Vitamin D deficiency is a common public health problem worldwide. In countries with sufficient sun exposure, vitamin D deficiency is still a health problem. Many factors contribute to vitamin D deficiency, including exposure to sunlight and inadequate intake of nutrients containing vitamin D. Vitamin D deficiency is associated with various degenerative diseases such as osteoporosis and fractures, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes mellitus. The role of vitamin D supplementation in food and an understanding of the importance of sun exposure are needed as a strategy for the prevention and management of vitamin D deficiency
