Abstract
The mensilaq tradition and the character values contained in it are traditions that are continuously carried out and preserved by the Sasak community in Lendang Kunyit Hamlet, Pengadang Village, Central Praya District, Central Lombok Regency, and are carried out at events such as begawe merarik, nyiwak and circumcision. This research aims to determine the process of implementing the mensilaq tradition among the Sasak community in Lendang Kunyit Hamlet, Pengadang Village, Central Praya District, Central Lombok Regency. and to find out the character values contained in the mensilaq tradition in Lendang Kunyit Hamlet, Pengadang Village, Praya Tengah District, Central Lombok Regency, this research uses a type of qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques use observation, interview and documentation techniques. Based on the research results, it shows that the mensilaq tradition is carried out in several stages of the implementation process, including the preparation stage, implementation stage and closing stage. In the preparatory stage, a family meeting is held to determine who will be the pensilaq and prepare the tools and materials that will be used later in the process of implementing the mensilaq tradition. The implementation stage of the penensilaq craftsman visits the house being pesilaq, the penensilaq puts it as a condition of invitation, the penensilaq leaves the house being pesilaq. The closing stage is that the penensilaq returns to Epen Gawe's house carrying the mensilaq symbol and reporting that his task has been completed. In the Mensilaq tradition there are several character values contained, namely: religious values, cultural values, politeness values, family values and responsibility values.
