Abstract

Cooler box still have weaknesses such as not compact form, high power consume and expensive. Therefore it is necessay to creat a cooler box that is cheap, low power consume and environmental friendly. The objective of this research is to know the effect of peltier positions on the cooler box COP. The cooler box used has an overall dimension of 28.5 cm x 24.5 cm x 20 cm with one thermoelectric module TEC1- 12706. The electric power applied was abaout 38.08 W. the variable studiedwas Peltier positions namely on the top, on the bottom and on the wall. The results indicate that the Peltier positioned on the top without water results in the room temperature of 20.09oC and COP of 0.02. The Peltier positioned on the bottom without water produced the room temperature of 23.59°C and COP of 0.02. The Peltier that is installed on the wall without water yields the room temperatur of 20.1oC and COP of 0.03. The Peltier positioned on the top with water of 360 ml result in the room temperatur of 21.99oC and COP of 0.03. Meanwhile, the Peltier placed on the bottom with water of 360 ml produces the room temperatur 24.62oC and COP of 0.02. The Peltier installed on the cooler box wall with water of 360 ml yields the room temperature of 21.32oC and COP of 0.04. Therefore,
