Abstract

Efforts to increase tomato production among farmers sometimes experience obstacles, especially in fulfilling production facilities, namely fertilizer, which is often scarce when the planting season approaches. If the price of fertilizer on the market is very expensive, then farmers will not be able to buy it, especially for farmers who have little capital in their farming business. Apart from the problem of fertilization, another problem with tomatoes is the rapid rotting of tomatoes, which will affect the quality of the tomatoes and affect the price of the tomatoes themselves. The research was carried out with the aim of determining the effect of the concentration of Orrin liquid silicate rock fertilizer on the growth and yield of tomato plants and to determine the effect of Orrin liquid silicate rock fertilizer on the storability of tomatoes. This research was conducted in Tanak Awu Village, Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The experimental design used in this research was a randomized block design with a concentration treatment of Orrin liquid silicate rock fertilizer consisting of 5 levels, namely: k0 (control), k1 (5 ml/L), k2 (10 ml/L), k3 (15 ml/L), k4 (20 ml/L). Each treatment was repeated 3 times to obtain 15 experimental plots. The research results were analyzed using variance analysis at a significance level of 5%. Treatments that were significantly different were further tested using the BNJ test. The results of the research showed that Orrin's liquid silicate rock fertilizer concentration treatment did not affect the growth components of tomato plants which included plant height and number of leaves, but did influence the tomato yield components which included fruit weight per plot (g/plot) and number of fruits (fruit/plot). The results of observing the shelf life of tomatoes show that the higher the concentration of Orrin, the longer the shelf life. At the highest concentration, namely (20 ml/L), the fruit's shelf life reaches 50 days at room temperature, while the treatment without Orrin can be stored for only 4 days.
