Abstract

Freshwater pomfret is a fish introduced to the Amazon river, South America. This fish has been widely cultivated in its area of origin and in Indonesia because it has several advantages such as having economic value, relatively fast growth, and good appetite. However, the obstacle that is often faced in cultivating pomfret is disease. One of the diseases that often attacks freshwater pomfret is Motile Aeromonas Septichaemia (MAS), which is a disease in fish caused by pathogenic bacteria of the type (Aeromonas sp.). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of giving komak leaf extract (Lablab purpureus) to the immune system of freshwater pomfret (Colossoma macropomum) infected with Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria. The method used in this research is experimental. The experimental method is carried out by directly observing the effect of the treatment given. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) using 5 treatments and 3 replications, so that 15 experimental units were obtained. The conclusion of this study is the effectiveness of the leaf extract of the komak (Lablab purpureus) against the immune system of freshwater pomfret (Colossoma macropomum) which was injected with the bacteria Aeromonas hydrophila which gave significant results (P<0.05) to the total number of red blood cells (Erythrocytes), total white blood cells (leukocytes), hemoglobin (Hb) level, hematocrit, leukocyte differential, phagocytosis effectiveness, total bacteria and survival rate (SR).
