Abstract

This study focused on students’ difficulties and their perception in writing recount text : A study at the second year students of MA Muallimin NW Anjani in academic year 2016/2017. It was aimed at finding out their difficulties and their perception. The most difficulties were words choice and content. While students perceptions in writing recount text were their perception of difficulties in content, organization, diction/word choice, and sentence structure.. The population of this study was the second year students of MA Muallimin NW Anjani consisted of 158 students. The sample was 39 students taken from 25 % of the population. All the subjects in this group of learners consisted of only male. The data gathered through test, observation sheet, and questionnaire. The method used in analyzing the data was qualitative method. In this study, the writer found that the result of data analysis could be classified as fair 1 student (2.5 %), as poor 1 student (2.5 %), and as very poor 37 students (95 %). So, the study could be concluded that the students are insufficient in comprehending recount text.
