Abstract
Corporate social responsibility is one of the company's effort foster good relations to the community. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is defined as a concept where a company has responsibility to society and the environment in all aspects of company operations. CSR is closely linked to "sustainable development". As a company with concept of Islamic, Islamic Banks are expected to response the economic problems occurred. Since Islamic economic system has been used as an alternative banking system implemented in many countries to manage their finances and to be a solution to get out from the global economic crisis. The aplication of CSR by Islamic Banking is an essential process in the costs and benefits management of business activity both internally (employees, shareholders and investors) and external (institutional, community members, civil society groups and other companies). As a company in volved the concept of Islamic Banking, Bank Muamalat Indonesia is a company playing an important role in realizing the aplication of CSR by Islamic Banking. As curtained in act No. 40 year 2007 on Limited Liabilityon CSR as a commitment by the company to participate in sustainable economic development to improve the quality of people's lifes and act No. 21 year 2008 on Islamic Banking regulating the aplication of the social function of Islamic Banking.
