Abstract
There are several problems identified possessed by students because of low study achievment of students. It is shown by some actions such as; they are lack responsibility to theirselves and parents, they are not active and communicative in learning process, there is no readiness in joining teaching and learning process in the class and they don’t fix the homework given by the teachers well. This research aims to know the influence of parent’s attention and emotional intelligence on student’s semester II achievment in Mathematics subject in class VIII of SMPN 13 Mataram academic year 2012/2013. According to the problem analysis and research purpose, the method use is quantitative metod research with inference statistics technique, it is parametris technique. The data used in this research is primary data. Primary data collected from test instrument and non test instrument with 82 respondents as a research sample. The data analysed by Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) version 17.0 program and Item and Test Analysis (ITEMAN) version 3.00. According to the data analysis, the result shows that the attention of parents and emotional intelligence influence the student’s achievement until 14,1%. The effectiveness level of influence occurs can be shown by folded regression equation as Y=14,726-0,042X_1+0,757X_2. It means that the equation is able to predict the real condition of population. This fact shown by the value of Fhitung = 6,46, with 0,003 significance phase. In addition, Fhitung is consulted with Ftabel dk (numerator) = 2 and dk (denominator) = 79 with 5% of significance phase, so that it is resulted Ftabel = 3,11. Because Fhitung is higher than Ftabel, it 6,461 > 3,11, so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. It means that there is significance influence of parent’s attention and emotional intelligence on student’s achievement in Mathematics subject student in semester II at class VIII of SMPN3 Mataram academic year 2012/2013. .
