Abstract
Language in the context of this study is defined as something that is not neutral. The language has been submerged by the ideology that carries a charge of specific power, meaning that the language used in the discourse of the newspapers are always associa ted with social practices. To the newspaper is an interesting thing to study is based on a model of discourse analysis Teun Adrianus van Dijk. The purpose of this study is to describe the analysis of news text homicides in Lombok Post newspaper edition of August 2014 using the model of van Dijk, describe the implications of the results of research on Indonesian language learning in high school.
