Abstract
The purpose of this research was to find out the way the translator translated the Implicit Referential Meanings in the novel and the factors that made Implicit Referential Meanings appear explicitly or not in the target language. This research used a qualitative descriptive method. The source of the data in this research was a novel “New Moon” written by Stephanie Mayer and its Indonesia version “Dua Cinta” translated by Monica Dwi Chresnayani. The Source Language (SL) was English and the Target Language (TL) was Indonesian. The results of this research showed that the Implicit Referential Meaning can be translated implicitly and explicitly in the target language. Factors that made Implicit Referential Meaning explicit or not in the target language was ambiguity or vagueness in the target language, it was if the system of target language allowed it.
