Abstract

The following are the suggestions for the teacher in using songs for teaching: a. An English song is one of interesting and effective media in teaching. Teacher could use English songs not only in increasing students’ motivation but also to increase students’ ability. b. Teacher should have ability in choosing the right song given to the students’ level and interest. c. The song that the teacher use must has good beat, neither very mellow nor too fast beat and choose the song with genre that the students like. d. The teacher should run the teaching and learning process using English songs which is suitable with time allotment and the materials based on the students’ background interest.
