Abstract

This study is aimed at investigating the effect conceptual understanding procedures (CUPs) learning model with analogical approach toward the result of physics learning of students. The type of this research was a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was all students of class XII MIA SMAN 3 Mataram in academic year 2018/2019. The sample of this study was XII MIA 9 as control class with 30 students and XII MIA 7 as experimental class with 30 students. The sampling technique of this study used purposive sampling. Data of students’ learning result analyzed by using t-tests with 5% level of significant and N-gain test. The results of the t-test showed that tcounted = 20.08 > ttable = 2.05. The results of this study indicated that there was an influence of conceptual understanding procedures (CUPs) learning model with analogical approach toward the result of physics learning of students. These result supported by the result of the N-gain test that showed the N-gain control class 44.35% in the category of medium the N-gain experimental class 80.08% in the category of high.
