Abstract
The aim of this experiment was to study the effect of the turmeric powder to body weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion on male laying type. Sixty male laying type were divided into 2 groups of treatments on one day of age. The first was no turmeric powder added (P0) and the second treatment was added 1 gram turmeric powder/bird/day (P1) on day 8 in drinking water till the marketing age at 35 days. The data were subjected to description analysis. The statistical analysis showed that feed consumpt ion reduced from 770 (P0) to 768 gram /bird (P1). Improvement in body weight gain was also achieved from 343.9 to 353.2 gram/bird) as well as feed conversion was lower from 2.240 to 2.174. The result of the study indicated that added 1 gram turmeric powder/bird/day in drinking water can reduce 0,32 % of feed consumption, increasing 2,70 % 0f body weight gain and improve 2,95 % of feed conversion.
