Abstract

This study aims to determine the population dynamics buffaloes in Lombok Tengah. This study was conducted from October to December 2013. Research done by the survey method with the three districts. Samples taken purposive includes 60 farmers as respondents. The data has been tabulated descriptively and analyzed consisting of the average, and the percentage deviation standard. The results of the study demonstrated that the structure of the population which includes gudel buffaloes, sapling, young, and adults respectively 21.94%, 17.87%, 13.98%, 46.19%, and the ratio between the male: female adult (1 : 2). Birth rate of 18.54% of the population, the mortality rate of 3.86%, the natural increase of (NI) 14.68%. Expenditure figures in observation 17.62% and the number of cattle that enter 20.19%, so as to have a difference of 2.57%. Buffalo livestock population dynamics in Central Lombok in the period 2008 to 2012 experienced growth of 1.05%.
