Abstract

This research aims to determine the nutrient content of corn straw in District Gerung West Lombok. This research was conducted at Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Animal Husbandry Faculty of Mataram University since December 2014 until January 2015. The material used is Sweet corn straw by cutting age 70 days and weighing 4.5 kg, White corn straw by cutting age 68 days and weighing 4.3 kg, straw corn Pioner varieties by cutting age 72 days and weighing 4.9 kg and straw corn Bisi 2 varieties with cutting age 71 days and weighing 4.8 kg. The sampling is done by harvesting techniques zikzak that take samples at each corner and the middle part with each of the two rods. Observed variables is Water Content, Dry Matter, Ash Content, Crude Fiber, Crude Fat, Crude Protein, BETN and TDN. The results obtained from this reseach were analyzed using descriptive analysis to calculate the average value and standard deviation of 3 replications. The results showed that the nutritional content of each kind of different corn straw and hay is the best corn is used as animal feed is straw Sweet corn.
