Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the botanical composition, crude fiber content, dry material content, crude fiber, and crude protein of feed which were given to the Bali cattle at Sumber Rizki, a livestock group in Bun Mudrak Halmet, Sukarara Village, Jonggat Sub-district Central Lombok for 4 weeks in May 2016. The feed samples were taken from 10 different places which had been weighted and collected and then reweighted and dried in the sun for 2-3 days. After being collected for 4 weeks, the samples were sent to the Laboratory of Nutrition and Animal Food Science of Husbandry Faculty, Mataram University and analyzed proximately about dry materials content, crude fiber, and crude protein. The analysis result both quantitatively and qualitatively showed that there were 18 green botanical feed types with the grass content was the highest percentage which was 52% and followed by legume 28%; others 20%; dry material content 23.71%; crude fiber 30.52% and crude protein 20.79%. It was concluded that the dry material, crude fiber and crude protein content of Bali cattle forages in this research place was the same as the report in the literature of Nutrition and Animal Food Science.
