Abstract
This research was conducted as a descriptive qualitative research. It attempted to describe the teachers’ strategies in developing English School-Based Test are frequently used by the English teachers in SMAN 1 Prayaand to identify the teachers’ consideration in developing the test. The interview and questionnaire were selected as the method in collecting the data in this study. Furthermore, the result showed that the teachers’ strategies in developing English School-Based test starting from planning the test, designing the test, trying-out the test, reviewing, revising the test, selecting the test, and final checking test. There are several considerations in Language Testing which is needed to be considered before conducting the test. For theteacher, ensuring the test is valid, reliable and practical is important to be considered in order to construct a good test.
