Abstract

Soap making raw materials still use edible oils, such as coconut oil and palm oil. This problem will lead to competition between food needs and industrial needs in the use of basic materials. There has been a study of soap characterization of non- edible oil alternative ingredients namely nyamplung fruit core oil, with the addition of additives of purut orange peel essential oil to add the benefits of repelan power to soap from the core oil of the fruit. The core oil of the fruit is obtained using the sokletasi method and obtained a yield of 54.96%. Purut orange peel essential oil is obtained using the steam distillation method and obtained a yield of 4.09%. Gc-MS analysis of purut orange peel essential oil shows the absence of compounds that act as repellants such as α-pinene, linalool, citronellol, citronellal, geraniol, geranyl acetate, and limonene. Soap is made by reacting to the oil with triglycerides and then added additives in the form of essential oils of purut orange peel. Soaps with varying concentrations of essential oils (0%,1%,2%, and 3%) have characteristics that almost correspond to all parameters of SNI 3532-2016. Soap with the best characteristics is a soap with an essential oil concentration of 1%. Soap with the addition of essential oil of purut orange peel has a high repelan power. The highest repellant power is possessed by soaps with an essential oil concentration of 3%. The repellant of soap can last for 3 hours, after more than 3 hours then the effectiveness of soap repellant power will be reduced.
