Abstract

This research aims to know the effectiveness of English drama in teaching vocabulary for young learners. The research was conducted in Runner class at Jage Kastare Foundation 2020/2021. During the research, the researcher used an experimental design to know whether English drama is effective in teaching vocabulary or not. The sample of runner class was divided randomly into two groups, and they were Runner A (Experimental Group) and Runner B (Control Group). The English drama was applied in the Experimental Group during the experiment, while in the other class was not. In order to gain the data needed, the researcher delivered pre-test and post-test to both classes and did throughout the analysis. Based on the result of data analysis, the t-test value was 3,149 and it was higher than the t-table value with a degree of freedom (df) of 28 at the confidence level of .05 (95%) was 2.049. It means that the use of English drama was effective in teaching vocabulary for young learners.
