Abstract
This study aims to know the students’ opinions of learning reading through online learning and the problems faced by the students in online learning. This study was conducted at eleventh class students in MAN 1 Lombok Tengah. This study is qualitative descriptive using qualitative approach which involves 37 students from 7 classes as the participants. The primary source of the data is derived from questionnaires and interviews. According to students’ opinions, it can be concluded that learning reading through online learning is not effective, the students’ reading ability does not increase, and the lack of students’ reading motivation. In addition, the problems faced by students in online learning including internal problems such as learning motivation, independence in doing assignments, and bad habits. Meanwhile, the external problems are environment, networks, social media, and educational support.
