Abstract

Abdul Kholiq, Analysis of te Factors that Affets on the Production of Cayyene Pepper in Selong East Lombok. Supervised by Mr. Dr. Ir. Anas Zaini, M.Sc. As the Main Advisory Lecturer and Mr. Dr. uhammad. Siddik, MS. As a Advisory Lecturer. The objectives of this study are: (1) To analyze the factors that influence the production of cayenne pepper in Selong District, East Lombok Regency; (2) To identify the obstacles faced by farmers in cayenne pepper farming in Selong District, East Lombok Regency. This study uses descriptive methods and data collection techniques by means of a survey. The unit of analysis in this research is chili farming in Selong District, East Lombok Regency which is doing cayenne pepper farming. The type of data in this study is qualitative data, while the data sources in this study are: primary data and secondary data. This research was conducted in five villages, namely Denggen Village, Kelayu Jorong Village, Kembang Sari Village, Rakam Village, and East Denggen Village. Determination of the sample area by purposive sampling, based on the consideration that the five villages have the highest planting area compared to other villages. Determination of the number of respondents is determined by quota sampling, namely sampling based on the number or quota that has been determined as many as 45 respondents. Sampling in five villages was carried out by proportional sampling. The data were analyzed using SPSS software. The average yield of cayenne pepper in Selong District is 4287.78 kg per one growing season. Simultaneously the factors of land area, labor, level of extension, pesticides, irrigation, capital, seeds, fertilizers, and land management have a significant effect on production in Selong District, East Lombok Regency. Partially, labor factors, land management, level of extension and irrigation had a significant effect on the production of cayenne pepper in Selong District, while the factors of land area, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and capital had no significant effect on the production of cayenne pepper.
