Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the growth and yield of peanuts intercropped with sorghum at different planting times and planting arrangements in dry land. The experiment was carried out using a factorial randomized block design (RAK) with two treatment factors, namely the time of planting (W1 = Peanuts planted 14 days before sorghum, W2 = Peanuts planted together with sorghum, and W3 = Peanuts planted 14 days after sorghum) and planting setting treatments (S1 = Every 1 row of peanuts inserted with 1 row of sorghum, S2 = Every 2 rows of peanuts inserted with 1 row of sorghum, S3 = Every 3 rows of peanuts inserted with 1 row of sorghum, S4 = Every 4 rows of peanuts are inserted with 1 row of sorghum). Data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Honest Significant Difference test (Tukey's HSD) at a significance level of 5% using the Costat fot Windows program. The results showed that planting time had a significant effect on the growth parameters and yield of peanuts, namely plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, dry space weight, number of pods, pod weight, number of seeds, seed weight/m², seed weight/ha and weight of 100 seeds (W1). Planting regulation factors also had a significant influence on the growth and yield of peanut plants, namely the number of leaves, number of branches, dry space weight, number of flowers, number of pods, pod weight, number of seeds, seed weight/m², and seed weight/ha ( S4). The interaction between the two factors was only seen in the number of parameters of the number of leaves and the number of branches of peanuts, with the highest number of leaves and branches at the treatment combination of planting time 14 days before sorghum and inserting 4 rows of peanuts in every 1 row of sorghum (W1S4).
