Abstract

researcher used pre-test, treatments, and post-test. The finding showed that t-test value was higher than t-table. 12.98 > 1.697 at significant level .05 and 12.98 > 2.750 at significant level of .01 in degree of freedom (df) 32. It means that the Null Hypothesis (Ho) which states that “There is no significant effect of using short English movies in teaching listening” is rejected while the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) which states that “There is a significant effect of using short English movies in teaching listening” is accepted. It shows that short English movies are significant to be applied in teaching listening at eight grade of SMPN 10 Mataram in academic year 2015/2016.
