Abstract

The aim of this analysis researcher is to determine how common between teachers - students and student- students interaction in English Language Teaching Model at SMPN 5 Mataram. This conducted at Eight Grade / I in approximately one month. During this period, the subjects of this study were 40 students and one teacher of English. The class interactions were video recorded, and then the interaction was analyzed by using the COLT observation sheet. Theory from Spada and Frohlich was used to analyze the interaction among teacher-student and Student-student. The results of this analysis indicated that the interaction was done more inclined to active by student and students, teachers tend to give more explanations and more students quickly understand and comprehend. Interaction was done in this class, the interaction between students to student. Although there were a few students who were less active and uncomfortable with the classroom atmosphere, overall the process of the teaching and learning was quite good and effective due to the dialogue used teacher and a media game in teaching learning make students tend to be more actively talking and interacting to the teacher-student and student-student in the class.
