Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine effect of different density on the growth and survival rate of blood cockle (Anadara granosa) was given Chaetoceros spp. The experimental design used was a Completely Randomized Design of 4 (four) treatment levels is a stocking A (4,12 ind./liters), B (4,50 ind./liters), C (4,87 ind./liters) and D (5,25 ind./liters). The parameters measured in this study were absolute growth, absolute longevity, specific weight growth rate, specific length of growth rate, survival rate of blood cockle and water quality with natural feeding of Chaetoceros spp. with density 270.000 cel/ml. The best growth was seen in treatment B with a density of (4,50 ind./liters) where the end of the study reached an average absolute weight of ±9.4 grams. While the lowest was in the treatment D with a density of (5,25 ind./liters) where the end of the study reached absolute weight ±8.2 grams. From ANOVA and BNT test result, it is known that treatment of B with a density of (4,50 ind./liters) has the highest survival rate compared to all treatments, and has higher growth rate and growth rate and significantly different from other treatment. From the results of water quality measurements during the maintenance are still in the normal range of blood cockle cultivation.
