Abstract

Wind energy is one source of energy that can be renewable, therefore the use of wind energy so far. Indonesia has enormous wind energy potential with wind speeds ranging from 2 m / s up to 6 m / s, and especially in the West Nusa Tenggara region can reach wind speeds> 5 m / s. So it is possible for the utilization of small-scale wind energy (10 KW) and medium (10-100 KW). This research was conducted to obtain the performance characteristics of horizontal axle wind turbine with variation of blade profile and number of different blade in each test. Wind sources are obtained with the help of a car to get a wind speed of 6 m / s. The shape of the blade profile used there are four variations of the big taper, half tapered large, small and small half a small tirus. The test is also carried out with variations in the number of blades 3, 4.5 and 6. The results are presented in graphical form of blade to current, number of blade to, voltage, number of blade to power, number of blade to rotation of generator and amount of blade to wind speed. Maximum current generator on large tapered profile form with blade 4 amount of 0.82 (Amper). Maximum generator voltage generated on the form of a large tapered profile with a blade 4 amount of 49.65 (Volt). Maximum generator power generated on large tapered profile form with blade 4 amount of 40.90 (Watt). Maximum generator loop generated on large tapered profile form with blade 6 amount of 953.70 (rpm). So from the variation of the blade profile form and the number of blade to the performance of the generator obtained maximum results on the form of a large blade profile with blade number 4 blade.
