Abstract

A study aimed to evaluate feeding different levels of duckweed that nurtured using bio-slurry on heavy metal content in the blood of ducks was conducted at Lingsar village, subdistrict of Lingsar West Lombok Regency. The material used include the young ducks, duckweed, and feed materials.The experiment was arranged according to Randomized Complete Design with five treatments i.e., P0 (control), P1 (2.5% duckweed), P2 (5% duckweed), P3 (7.5% duckweed) and P4 (10% duckweed) with three replicates each. The observed variables were the heavy metal content in duck blood. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance. The differences among the treatments tested usingDuncan multiple range test. The results of this studies show that feeding different levels of duckweed did not results in significant difference in heavy metal content of the blood (P >0.05). Cadnium (Cd) content for each treatment were P0 (0.01 ppm), P2 (0.04 ppm), P3 (0.03 ppm), P4 (0.04 ppm) and P1 (0.02 ppm). The Pb content were P0 (0.13 ppm), P2 (0.11 ppm), P1 (0.14 ppm), P4 (0.08 ppm) and P3 (0.09 ppm). Heavy metal Cu were P3 (0.07 ppm), P2 (0.05 ppm), P1 (0.07 ppm), P0 (0.08 ppm) and P4 (0.05 ppm). The conclusion that the content of heavy metals are still under the threshold.
