Abstract

Dusun Tinggir in the district of Pringgabaya is one of the dry land farming area located on Lombok island. Dry land farming in Dusun Tinggir is using LEB conventional JIAT irrigation system to irrigate their land. But the problem is this irrigation system suffers too much evaporation, especially when distributing water toward the land. In an effort to resolve the issue, it needs to be applied an irrigation systems on dry land that can deal with the level of water loss such as using irrigation system pipe of LEB. Application of pipe of LEB irrigation systems in the field is enough to overcome the problem of water loss when streaming to the land but not enough to overcome the evaporation problem at the surface. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an irrigation system to help pipe of LEB irrigation in overcoming evaporation surface so that water from irrigation pipe of LEB can fully infiltrated without being absorbed back to the surface by evaporation. Regarding this problem, a research must be conducted the network of piping irrigation to maintain soil moisture value on the land by combining pipe of LEB irrigation system as the main irrigation and mini sprinkler irrigation systems as irrigation on the land surface. The purpose of this study was to acknowledge the effect of the changes of irrigation pipes of LEB system with mini sprinkler irrigation watering to soil moisture after irrigated on duration of 10 minutes, 15 minutes, and 20 minutes on soil depths of 10 cm, 20 cm and 30 cm. And also to acknowledge the comparison of the changes in soil moisture between the pipe of LEB irrigation and the combination of irrigation.
