Abstract

This study aims to produce an encyclopedia of chemical calculations that are feasible to be applied in schools, test the effectiveness of the encyclopedia, and find out its practicality. The research design used Thiagarajan development model, the 4D model (Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination). Subjects were students of class X MIA Prestasi, X MIA 1, and X MIA 2. The results of the feasibility assessment by the validator, generally obtained the feasibility category for the content aspect showed a fairly valid category, the presentation aspect showed a very valid category, the language aspect showed the category valid, and in the graphic aspect shows a valid category. Meanwhile, the effectiveness can be seen from students' classical learning completeness in each class, where the percentage of students completing the X MIA Prestasi class, X MIA 1, and X MIA 2 is 76%, 93%, and 76% with effectiveness criteria that is effective, very effective and effective successively. In practicality assessment, practicality category in class X MIA Prestasi for aspects of interest, ease of material, ease of language, time, and usefulness shows practicality categories which are practical, less practical, practical, practical and practical in a row, while in class X MIA 1 for each aspect shows an entirely practical category, and in class X MIA 2 shows the whole category practically. In general, based on these results it can be concluded that the encyclopedia of chemical calculations developed is valid, effective and practical.
