Abstract

Background: Ureteral stones disease in Indonesia still have the biggest portion of the patients number in urological clinic. Based on data from other country,life time risk ofthe stones reported approximately 5-10%. Ureterorenoscopy is one of the operation procedure in the field of urology to cleave the ureter stones and have minimal impact in arround tissues. Although this tool has been designedin such a way, there are still about 10% of the cases are failure and require conversion action. Therfore, researcher conducted a study to determine the factors that affect the operation of ureterorenoscopy lithotripsy failure in patients ureteral stones based on location and size of the stones. Method:This study was correlative analytical using cross sectional design. Subject of this study were 57 patients ureteral stones who underwent ureterorenoscopy operation in Biomedika Hospital Mataram and fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Data of this research are taken from all medical record patients ureteral stones who underwent ureterorenoscopy lithotripsy operation in February 2010 – February 2013periode. Data are obtained and proccessed by Lambda test. Result:The success number of ureterorenoscopy lithotripsy operation in patients ureteral stones was 89,4%. The size of stones most commonly found more than 1 cm with percentage 77,2% and the location of the stones most commonly found in distal ureter for 49,1%. Conclusion:There was no relationship between location and size of the stones with the success of ureterorenoscopy lithotripsy operation statistically.
