Abstract
This thesis entitled An Analysis Of Characteristic and Psychological Conflicts of The Main Characters in Sidney Sheldon's Novel “Tell Me Your Dreams” was aimed to identify the characteristics of the main character and to describe the psychological conflicts faced by the main characters in the novel. The data was analyzed by using descriptive qualitative method. To collect the data, the writer did a library research. There were two sorts of data that the writer used, the first one was primary data, the novel it self, “Tell Me Your Dreams” by Sidney Sheldon. And the second was secondary data, the data was taken from another thesis in library, journal and websites. To analyze the data, there were four procedures that the writer used. The first was identifying the data selected, The second was classifying the data, the third was describing, and the last was concluding. The findings show that there are two main characters in the novel, Ashley Petterson and David Singer. The two main characters have different characteristics. Ashley Petterson was attractive, boring, aware, skepticism, emotional, desperate and selfish. While, David Singer was charming, emotional and optimistic. their characteristics are closely related to conflict they faced that occuring to them. Ashley had some characteristics which brought her into psychological conflict. while, David Singer had good characteristic which did not put him under many conflicts with herself
