Abstract

This thesis entitled " An Analysis of Turn-Taking Mechanism in Classroom Conversation at The Year 2 of CEC Kampoeng Pare Mataram 2023". This study aims to identify and describe the turn-taking mechanisms that frequently occurred in the classroom conversation class in Year 2 at CEC Kampoeng Pare Mataram. The data were collected from conversations that took place during the classroom sessions at CEC Kampoeng Pare Mataram. The data analysis revealed two frequently occurring types of turn-taking mechanisms: taking the floor and yielding the floor. These mechanisms resulted from the conversation setting in the classroom, where the main speaker was predominantly the teacher.
