Abstract

Translanguaging can be define as the concept of communication that uses more than one language. The aim of this study is to describe the use of pedagogical tanslanguaging in English classes at SMP N 1 Narmada. The researcher applied classroom observations, interview, and questionnaire to gather the data in the use of translanguaging as pedagogical translanguaging in the classroom. The subject of this study were the English teacher of the eight grade students in 8.2 class. The data were analyzed using descriptive methodological procedure. The result shows that the use of translanguaging in the classroom was used mainly in the opening the class and introduction the lesson. The students perceived translanguaging has positive and impactful to their learning in the classroom.
